Cover: Brown cover with embossed floral/leaf design on front and back covers, and design is throughout both; "Velasco" printed in gold on the front cover. Note the fine rib background behind the raised floral. This is an exceedingly rare example of ribbon embossed cloth (ca. 1831-1840), and it reflects a brief moment in the history of cloth binding. The entire bolt of cloth was embossed and cut to size.
